After ordering food from DoorDash, Sioux Falls, South Dakota resident Anastasia Elsinger, saw on the delivery app’s tracking map that the delivery driver stopped blocks away from her home. Her driver had been stopped by the police. Elsinger figured her food would be late. But then the doorbell rang. “I know I’m not who you’re expecting,” said Officer Sam Buhr of the Sioux Falls Police Department. “But your driver got arrested so I figured I’d complete the DoorDash order,” added the grinning officer.
Elsinger’s doorbell camera captured the officer delivering her order after her driver was pulled over, leading to a TikTok video that has racked up 4.5 million likes and 11.6 million views.
Elsinger said she shared the video on social media and with a local group because she wanted the police department and the community to know about Buhr’s extra effort.
“There’s so much negativity in the world right now, and this is just something that’s so funny and so happy that I was like, ‘more people need to see this. This is hilarious,’” she said.
